Challenge:
TNB, which has parts of its business certified as either PAS 55 or ISO 55001 compliant, recognised an opportunity to better connect risk management with capital and operational planning through the introduction of a risk based decision making framework.
TNB sought the assistance of eAM to introduce risk-based decision making as a best practice asset management concept to its senior team via a two-day workshop.
Solution:
eAM held an interactive workshop with TNB’s senior teams across generation, transmission, distribution and corporate business areas, to bring to life risk based decision making and agree a way forward for implementation at TNB.
This included delivery of the Enterprise Dynamics™ asset management game, activities on stakeholders and value, a review of existing decision making practices at TNB and introduction of best practice case studies from the European power industry.
Results:
The workshop was successfully delivered and enthusiasm raised for changing risk-based decision making approaches across the TNB group of companies.
Work is ongoing with both the group level Asset Management Steering committee and the TNB internal training team at ILSAS to develop the next phases of work.
