Challenge:
As well as creating an AM Centre of Excellence (COE), DP World’s AM Programme involved improving the AM capability of its container terminals.
DP World required the terminals to be assessed in terms of AM maturity and roadmaps developed to take them to the target level of maturity.
The terminals then needed consultancy support to aid them on their AM journeys.
Solution:
eAM tailored its AM maturity assessment tool (Enterprise Dynamics™) for DP World and undertook gap assessments for 10 container ports across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa & the Middle East, including 2 greenfield sites.
eAM delivered various support to the terminals; work packages included:
- SAMP development
- Integrated Management System implementation
- Asset Information Strategy development
- Risk based decision making support
- Shared KPI introduction
Results:
DP World’s AM COE now has a good understanding of the maturity of its terminals, including common strong and weak areas, which has helped focus their efforts.
Re-assessments using Enterprise Dynamics™ have demonstrated that the terminals themselves have all improved in terms of AM maturity.
Specific benefits realised include:
- Opex reductions of up to 17%
- Capex reductions of 10-30%
- Retained risk reductions of up to 75%.
